![]() ![]() Side Stands are almost a must if your going to buy any aftermarket pipe. All the aftermarket pipes have large expansion chambers that get in the way and get hit by the stand every time you bring it up. The part about this which is bad is that the stand doesn't fully go up and scrapes along the ground which can be very dangerous. Side stands obviously clear pipes and are much easier to use, no need to get off and lift up the moped or worry about it breaking when sitting down. A few problems however are that you can not rev the engine or start it on the stand which is much easier to do on the stock one because it's elevated. The strong chrome, not aluminum, version runs at around $25.00. |

But, it does not scratch the $#!T out of the concrete when you put it down in a driveway. I had one, but the whole thing decided to just explode for no reason...bolts and all just shattered. I have to by a new one.

Note: He was using the black, weaker one, not the chrome one.

I see you want the stronger chrome stand, but can anyone tell me which sidestand it is you actually want and where you bought it?
I see some listed on Treats that look similar, but they're for Puch and need to be mounted on the right side, I also see some on Mopedjunkyard, 1977, and mopedwarehouse. Is there one that's better than the others out of the bunch?? Last edited by upthemaiden : 02-04-10 at 04:44 PM. |
