Default Vio1's Pimped Out Tomos ST

Hi everyone!
Im new to this forum, but you may know me from Moped-army as Max Payne. I found this forum, and thought i needed to join and support the Tomos community.

Here is my moped, a work in progress. (still waiting for some gaskets, chrome fenders, and warmer weather):

this is what it looked like before i took it apart:

Here is a video of my moped in its current state:

This is the first of many videos to come (cause i bought an Archos av500 100gb PVP and digital minicam). I plan to do a lot of recording on the road using the headcam. Cant wait for better weather!

That's pretty sweet, I already added that to the gallery.
How did you mount the speedo housing and what's it off of? Streetmate?

I fabricated a speedo mount, which screws onto the fork frame. The speedo and headlight are from a revival. Since I did this last summer, it seems a lot of people are taking the same idea, and getting revival round lights and speedos for the tomos bikes.

I know I am! I used to run an old 1980's Tomos Bullet headlight when I took the fairing off my LX, but it was a pain to convert it to the 12v bulb... The Revival headlight is an inch or so wider, so it gives it a more motorcycle look, plus it's all chrome! Who can say no to all chrome?!?!?!

You're an inspiration...

Does anyone know how this was done (found this in the photo gallery)? There doesnt seem to be enough room there for a carb:

Hey Vio1, I just had a crazy idea. Why not take the for tubes with the headlight mounts on them, and flip them upside-down? It would lower the headlight to right about where the horn is... may make it look chopper-esque. Just a thought. I may try it out myself when/if my parts come.. lol.

Like that... flip the black tubes on the forks.. so that the mounts are at the horn end of the tripple-trees....

I dont know what tubes you are talking about? Flip what? I installed the headlight into the bracket that was already welded onto the fork.

Lol... Did you see the pics I posted Max? THE TUBES that the HEADLIGHT MOUNTS ARE WELDED TO are SEPERATE from the actual forks. All you need to do is take the top-plate of the tripple trees (the plate that the handlebars and speedo mounts to) OFF and slide OFF the tubes with the headlight brackets on them... then simply flip them up-side-down and put the LEFT one on the RIGHT and the RIGHT one on the LEFT... that way it'll LOWER the headlight.

Look at the pics! Lol... (I photoshopped them in Paint so they're not that hot.. but you get the over-all effect.)

haha... i saw what you did with the pics before, I just didnt understand exactly how you were describing accomplishing that. I will have to look up close at my moped tomorrow and see what you are talking about. I think i know what you mean about reversing the tubes... i will take a look.

I painted the exhaust and boost bottle today. I had to strip off the clear coat that was put on in the factory, and then sanded it down, and then painted it. Long day.

I have a question for you guys. When i took apart the exhaust i removed the silencer and had to throw out the fiberglass cause it had burned into the container. Can I use regular household fiberglass to repack it? If not, what can i use?
